Start with a feeling

One room. Different moments.

01 / MORNING

Welcome the day.

Raise selected shades and ease into a brighter room. Coordinate the lighting with the daylight already coming through your windows.

02 / EVENING

Settle into warm light.

Balance dining, accent and ambient lighting, then choose a shade position that suits the view and your privacy.

03 / GOODNIGHT

Close the day simply.

A planned scene can lower shades and dim selected lights together. Choose the rooms and actions that belong in your routine.

HomeWorks is Lutron’s custom residential control platform for coordinated lighting, shades and architectural keypads. Its wired QS and Clear Connect wireless options support different construction conditions, from open walls to finished rooms.

A professionally designed system can combine scenes, schedules, dimming, intelligent light sources and compatible integrations. Your design should identify the processor, controls, lighting loads, shade interfaces and programming together.

  • Room-by-room or whole-home scenes
  • Wired and wireless control approaches
  • Native Lutron lighting and shade options
  • Keypads, app control and selected integrations

Have an existing HomeWorks system? Record its processor and device models first. QS, QSX and older generations have different upgrade requirements.

02 / ELECTRIC LIGHT

Choose what the light can do.

Dimming changes brightness. Tunable white changes the character of white light. Selected color-capable sources add another creative layer. Lutron’s current intelligent lighting portfolio offers three distinct paths.

TUNABLE WHITE + WARM DIM

Lumaris

Adjustable white light for everyday spaces, with current offerings spanning 1,800–4,000K. Choose recessed remodeler or retrofit downlights, tunable-white tape, or RGB + tunable-white tape for accent color.

Residential systems: RadioRA 3 and HomeWorks, subject to the product and system configuration.

LIGHT IN LAYERS

Think beyond the ceiling.

03 / NATURAL LIGHT

The right shade starts at the window.

Consider the view, glare, privacy, fabric, mounting and power together. Lutron’s shading range includes roller and cellular shades, Roman systems, wood and horizontal sheer blinds, and motorized drapery.

RETROFIT FLEXIBILITY

Triathlon

COMFORT BY DESIGN

Beautiful fabric. Practical details.

  • Sheer, privacy or blackout fabric
  • Inside, outside, pocket or exposed mounting
  • Side gaps and nighttime privacy
  • Battery access or planned power wiring
  • Aligned movement across adjacent windows
  • Window depth, handles and door clearance

Blackout fabric alone does not eliminate light around the edges. Room-darkening goals need a complete mounting and light-gap plan. Wireless communication also does not necessarily mean battery power.

Selected Lutron systems offer Natural Light Optimization to adjust compatible shades with the sun’s position. Confirm the system, supported treatments and setup for your project.

04 / EVERYDAY CONTROL

Choose the system before the switches.

Caséta

A starting point for smart dimmers, switches and compatible shades. Some professional shade families require Smart Hub PRO and a supported configuration.

RadioRA 3

A professionally programmed wireless residential system with Sunnata controls, compatible shades and Lumaris lighting options.

HomeWorks

The custom residential path for Lutron’s widest lighting and architectural-control choices, including Ketra and Rania.

For HomeWorks, explore keypad styles such as Alisse, Palladiom, Aviena, Sunnata and seeTouch, plus suitable Pico remotes. Choose the exact model, finish, engraving and system compatibility together.

Before you choose

A few useful distinctions.

Can I add Lutron to an existing home?

Often there are retrofit options to explore, including wireless controls, battery-powered shades and lighting designed for finished ceilings. The right approach depends on the openings, existing wiring, fixtures and system.

Will any Lutron shade work with any Lutron system?

No. Compatibility depends on the shade family, drive, communication method and controller. Serena and Caséta shades follow the Caséta path. Professional shade families have their own supported configurations, and some Caséta installations require Smart Hub PRO.

Can I keep my current HomeWorks equipment?

Start with an inventory. Lutron provides upgrade guidance for older systems, but the processor, links, loads and individual devices determine what can be retained or replaced.

Can lighting and shades work with my other smart-home devices?

Selected integrations can coordinate lighting and shades with other systems. Verify the exact platform, model, software and desired actions; additional interfaces or subscriptions may be needed.

What determines the project cost?
